# Who Brings What > A potluck sign-up sheet that checks everyone can eat. List the guests with their dietary needs and party size, let > people sign up for dishes (course, cook, what it contains, servings, oven/stove/outlet/fridge needs), and the page > shows a live who-can-eat-what grid, whether every guest has a real plate, servings per course, duplicate dishes, > kitchen clashes and allergens on the table. A metered host check returns fixes, gap suggestions and a group-chat > message; a second metered step writes a printable menu card and buffet tent cards. https://who-brings-what.skillsafe.ai/ Who Brings What is for friends' Thanksgiving-season potlucks, office lunches and any shared table where several people cook. It is not a recipe site, not a nutrition calculator and not medical advice: dietary marks are only as accurate as the "contains" tags people enter, and the page tells guests to ask the cook whenever ingredients are not confirmed. ## What runs free in the browser (potkit.js) - Guests: name, party size (1-12), host flag, and any of 13 needs: vegan, vegetarian, pescatarian, gluten-free, dairy-free, no egg, tree-nut allergy, peanut allergy, shellfish allergy, sesame allergy, no soy, no pork, no alcohol. - Dishes: name, course (starter, main, side, salad, bread, dessert, drinks, other), who brings it, contains tags (red meat, poultry, pork, fish, shellfish, dairy, egg, gluten, tree nuts, peanuts, soy, sesame, alcohol) or "not sure", servings, and what it needs (oven with a temperature, stovetop, outlet, fridge, microwave). - The grid: every dish x every guest is "can eat", "cannot" (with the clashing ingredient, highlighted for allergies) or "ask the cook" (ingredients not confirmed and the guest has a restriction). - A plate check per guest: a full plate is one main plus two other savoury dishes they can eat; otherwise thin or none. - Servings per course against rule-of-thumb estimates per person (mains 1, sides 2, salad 0.5, bread 1, starters 1, dessert 1, drinks 2). These are estimates for planning, not measurements. - Flags: no main, guests without a plate, short or overflowing courses, duplicate dishes (by name similarity), an allergen on the table that a guest is allergic to, more oven temperatures than ovens, too many slow cookers for the free outlets, fridge and burner crowding, unconfirmed ingredients, guests not bringing anything. - A still-needed list, group-chat text, CSV import and export of the sign-up sheet, Markdown, JSON and a printable sign-up sheet. ## The two metered tasks (model gpt-terra) - `host` - verdict (ready, gaps or rework), serving style (buffet, family, stations, mixed) with a table flow, a fix for every guest without a full plate, gap suggestions each asked of a named guest (one click adds them to the sheet), duplicate fixes, the drinks posture with a real alcohol-free option, kitchen fixes, safety notes, an optional after-dinner idea, and a message to paste into the group chat. - `cards` - a menu card (title, subtitle, sections in meal order, one line per dish) and one tent card per dish, in a chosen style (harvest table, candlelit, playful, minimal). The VG / V / GF / DF / NF marks and the "contains" line are always printed from the sheet, never from the model; a tent card never names the guest who has the allergy. Every reply is reconciled against the sheet: thin plates without a fix, short courses without a gap, unanswered duplicates or kitchen clashes, allergens missing from the safety notes, dishes missing from the menu, marks that do not match and cautions that name a guest are all listed under the result. ## API Both tasks can be driven over HTTP - see https://who-brings-what.skillsafe.ai/api.html for the input fields, the reply contracts, worked examples and samples in eight languages. `/estimate` is free. ## Sources Built on two SkillSafe skills: - @samber/event-hospitality - https://skillsafe.ai/skill/@samber/event-hospitality (service style and dietary coverage, the alcohol posture with an alcohol-free provision, the evening programme) - @suzheng/k2f-menu - https://skillsafe.ai/skill/@suzheng/k2f-menu (menu categories and consistent item anatomy)
